AmaZulu FC have extended the stay of head coach Arthur Zwane beyond the current term after impressing in his first season.
Zwane joined Usuthu late last year alongside Vusumuzi Vilakazi as co-coaches after Pablo Franco Martin was dismissed after losing three consecutive league matches at the start of the season.
Zwane and Vilakazi started slowly at the helm, losing to Stellenbosch FC in the Carling Knockout Challenge and then Orlando Pirates in a league match before the duo picked up their first maximum points against Chippa United in a 2-0 win.
In February, Usuthu announced the resignation of coach Vilakazi, leaving Zwane as the sole head coach of AmaZulu. Since then, Usuthu have played nine games, won three, drawn two, and lost four under the leadership of ‘Mangethe’.
Usuthu chairman Sandile Zungu has since confirmed that they have retained the services of Zwane for the upcoming season as he will once again lead the team as they look to finish in a respectable position in the current campaign.

At a press conference where AmaZulu also announced their new part partnership with Primo, Zungu announced that they have extended the stay of Zwane.
“Arthur Zwane is going to be with AmaZulu beyond this season; that decision has been taken. We believe that he has done an awesome job in giving character to the team,” Zungu told the media.
“We think he needed to be rewarded with a greater loyalty by us, and that decision has been communicated not only to him but also to the players and the rest of the technical team.
“Arthur Zwane is part of the AmaZulu FC beyond the end of the season, that’s a fact, we are very pleased with his good work.”
