Stellenbosch FC head Steve Barker feels like Devin Titus is miles ahead of his peers and should win Young Player Of The season by country miles.
The 23-year-old has been phenomenal this season, having scored six league goals and providing three assists. He also scored two goals in the Carling Knockout Cup, which they went on and win.
After his winning goal against Kaizer Chiefs, Barker insisted that Titus should easily win the Young Player Of The Season award.
“The less said the better, in my opinion we do our business the way we do our business. Sometimes being under the radar is not a bad thing,” Barker told the media.
“I just look at a player like Devin Titus, for example, I again have fear that if you look at goal contributions, assists, and goals scored he should win Young Player of the Season, if it was tomorrow by a country mile.
“Whether that happens I don’t know but I do feel it’s those types of instances where maybe not enough has been said about some of the achievements of what individual players are doing and what we’re doing as a team but we are not out there to let people see what we’re doing by telling them, we just go by our business the way we do.
“I do believe we will get the credit and reward that we deserve.”
