Orlando Pirates look ready for the 2024/25 campaign, as Jose Riveiro’s men collected two more wins on Saturday.
The Buccaneers came back from their pre-season tour of Spain with an impressive win against seven-time UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla, as well as draws with Granada and Plymouth Argyle before losing 3-2 to Al Sadd.
But Riveiro’s men had two more friendlies ahead of next week’s return of domestic football, downing Angolan side Bravos do Maquis and Mbabane Highlanders.
In the first game, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, Mohau Nkota and Patrick Maswanganyi were on the scoresheet to secure a 3-2 win.
While in the second match, Tshegofatso Mabasa scored a brace, with Azola Matrose, Monnapule Saleng and Katlego Otladisa completing the 5-0 rout.
Pirates start their 2024/25 campaign on 3 August when they will host SuperSport United in the quarter-final of the MTN8, while on 16 and 23 August they will face Madagascan side Disciples FC in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
