SuperSport United sensation Shandre Campbell has credited his coach Gavin Hunt for how quickly he adapted into the first team.
The 18-year-old was promoted to Matsatsantsa’s first team at the start of the current season following an impressive run with the DStv Diski Challenge side.
So far he has played 21 games in all competitions, including the CAF Confederation Cup and has three goals and four assists to his name.
Campbell spoke to iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 145 of the newspaper where he talked about his appreciation for Hunt’s guidance, straightforwardness and protectiveness.
“It didn’t feel overwhelming,” Campbell told iDiski Times.
“I feel like I adapted quickly into the team during pre-season and the coach guided me in that. He has guided me in the right direction to make me feel comfortable.
“And you know he’s like very straightforward. He is very protective and he will tell you when you do nonsense, but he also keeps you safe from media and all of that.”
