Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has revealed there will not be much time to prepare for his side’s clash with Kaizer Chiefs, saying he will again have a 20-minute tactical session like ahead of their win over Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns are currently mounting a mammoth fixture program, and will go into their ninth game in February when they will host Amakhosi on Saturday.
Cardoso revealed that his side only arrived at 3AM on Thursday morning after their 4-2 win at Sekhukhune United, with his playing squad been given the day off, while some of the squad players trained.
On Friday, then he will have another short tactical session to prepare his side to face Nasreddine Nabi’s men.
“There was a group of players that trained today very well,” he stated.
“So myself I was already here early in the morning. And tomorrow we will join for that training session that I told you [about], that some of you joked a little bit that I was being pretentious that I’m preparing matches in 20 minutes.
“But yeah, tomorrow is the 20-minute session because there is not much more time to do that. So yeah, 20 minutes of tactical work and the rest is obviously some warm-up and prepare the boys for the level they need to have in the session.
“Today, as you might imagine, I had a hard-days night to work through all the information to be able to condence it for tomorrow’s session, prepare the videos that we will have throughout the day and the day of the match.

“Even the date of the match clear. The match is at 15:30, so not a lot of time. We will try to cope with all these variance, to naturally create our strategical approach for the match so that we can be as strong as possible to put ourself in the level needed to win the match.”
