Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso was absolutely elated after his side secured the 2024/25 Betway Premiership title, saying he never understood why people doubted him.
The Portuguese tactician has won back-to-back league titles after winning the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 with ES Tunis last campaign.
After his Sundowns side secured the Betway Premiership title with a game to spare following their 3-0 win over Chippa United, Cardoso – who had already celebrated the last two goals of his side wildly – expressed his delight.
“I know that people were very suspicious when I arrived in this country, I don’t know why,” he told SuperSport TV.
“But I just make love to everybody, I love to be in South Africa, I love to be among you, I love your culture, I love your country.
“And I love to be part of the Masandawana family that really received me like I was one of them. That gave me a very strong starting point to give also the best for myself.”
