Chiefs Coach Gives Blom Injury Update

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Ben Youssef Khalil has revealed that they were forced to take off Njabulo Blom in their match against Sekhukhune United after he got injured just 10 minutes into play.

Blom started the match, his 12th appearance in the league this season, however, could not finish the tie after picking an injury early in the game.

Khalil explained that like with Rushwin Dortley, they had to take a bit of time before making a final decision on keeping Blom on the pitch, and after consultation with the medical team, they had to protect the midfielder and sub him.

“Like that, in this game Dortley he got a short injury,” said Khalil.

“Before the game, Dortley was not sure to play and also there is a challenge he got an injury, we were waiting for his situation because at half-time he said he can continue. The same with Blom he got an injury in the first 10 minutes.

“We tried with our medical staff to try to finish the game, but he got a lot of pain then we decided to protect him and make a substitution. It was an injury in the game, not before the game that’s what we know.”
