Kaizer Chiefs missed out on third place after squandering a two-goal lead to drop two points against Royal AM at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Saturday.
Amakhosi moved up to fifth on the Betway Premiership log with 11 points from seven outings, while Am are 10th with eight points from nine matches.

Gaston Sirino who started on the on bench last week ran the midfield starting the first goal passing finding Yusuf Maart who then set-up Du Preez for the opener in the fifth minute.
The second goal came off the boot of Duba from Dillan Solomons’ assist and the latter pulled a muscle and had to be subbed right after setting up the goal in the 13th minute.
Chiefs created a lot of chances in the first half and were their own worst enemy by not being clinical in the final third. Mduduzi Shabalala could have also been on the score-sheet earlier in the 12th minute but shot wide.
Du Preez could have also had a brace in the stanza but was denied by the up-right in the 26th minute. Maart also had a golden chance to triple the lead a minute to the break but missed an open net with his cheeky chip which only landed the ball on the roof of the net.
Meanwhile, Brandon Petersen had some nervy moments and was called to make saves in the 28th minute and in injury time of the half.

The start of the second half didn’t see much creation of chances from both sides. Six minutes into the half Ayabulela Maxwele pulled one back for the visitors with a stunner from range.
Sedwyn George, Kabelo Mahalasela and Sabelo Sithole had clear chances to get Thwihli Thwahla back into the game but all missed the target. There was a shot from Du Preez just before the hour mark, however it was tame and landed in AM’s goalkeeper’s hands.
Chiefs failed to capitalise on Mondli Mpoto being out of position in the 77th minute as they couldn’t’ penetrate the defense with Pule Mmodi not burying the second ball.
Chiefs had a call for a penalty not entertained by the referee in the 81st minute after Mfundo Vilakazi appeared to have been brought down in the box.
AM broke the hearts of the hosts when Levy Mashiane moved past both rushing centre-backs to slot home past Petersen to secure a point.
