Chiefs Give Injury Update

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has given an injury update for his squad ahead of their clash against Durban City on Sunday.

Amakhosi have lost their last three Betway Premiership games and should lose it again they would set a new negative record for the club in the PSL era.

Their form dip has also seen Durban City surpass them but they could climb back up the log with a win – also having two games in hand compared to the sides ahead of them on the log.

However, Kaze and his co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef will again have to reshuffle the starting XI as they are dealing with suspensions and injuries.

“For Sunday’s game against Durban City we have two suspensions, Ox [Mthethwa] and Aden [McCarthy],” he stated.

“We are having [Etiosa] Ighodaro that is coming back, he’s been training, him and Reeve [Frosler] for the past week but they are not physically ready yet to feature in the game.

“We still have Brandon Petersen who is recovering from his surgery. [Inacio] Miguel has trained the last three days and we still need to assess him.

“The last two days, [Mfundo] Vilakazi is fully back in training after his little knock that he got against Stellenbosch. Him, he is fully fit.

“The rest of the players are training very hard and are looking forward to Sunday’s game.”

Kaze did not mention Rushwin Dortley, who has been sidelined with a long-term knee injury since March 2025.
