The forgotten Bafana Bafana midfielder was recently expected to link up with his former mentor Rulani Mokwena in North Africa at Wydad Athletic Club but both parties are said to have failed on agreeing to terms with Zungu now back in Mzansi.
Zungu is a decorated league title winner with Glasgow Rangers in Scotland and has won six other trophies during his time at Masandawana with Masango believing that he could add much-needed experience at Naturena.
“I think Kaizer Chiefs need more experience in their squad,” Masango told Thabiso Mosia on Radio2000.
“The youngsters are doing well, but they need support. A player like Bongani Zungu is available, and maybe they should go for him.

“In my opinion, maybe a player like Zungu who is currently a free agent, I think he just needs a pivot that can be an interlink between the defence and attacking,” Masango said.
