Chiefs Receive Huge Boost Ahead Of PLK City Clash

Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel is set to return to the team for this afternoon’s Betway Premiership clash against Polokwane City after serving his two-match suspension.

Miguel has not featured for Amakhosi since being shown his marching orders in their 4-0 drubbing by Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinals on November 2. Reeve Frosler is however ruled out for one more game as a result of his dismissal against Richards Bay in their 2-1 win.

The 28-year-old centre-back has come under heavy scrutiny of late with his on-field discipline which has seen him pick up three yellow cards in just four appearances.

He has however contributed on the attacking front with a single goal and his return against Rise and Shine could boost a leaky Chiefs defence that has conceded three goals in two matches.

Nasreddine Nabi’s troops currently sit in ninth spot with 11 points from seven matches but could move as high as fourth place should they come away with maximum points.

The Tunisian mentor leapt to the Angolan international’s defence recently, saying:

“He needs time for adaptation – not only to the football, but also the atmosphere. I think he wants to give his maximum for Kaizer Chiefs, sometimes it is too much!”

The hosts on the other are in fifth spot and have a chance to move third behind Orlando Pirates.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
