Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler believes the club’s senior players should take inspiration from the young talents representing South Africa at U20 and U23 level, as he challenged himself and his teammates to break into the Bafana Bafana setup.
Chiefs have been well represented in South Africa’s junior national teams, a trend that contrasts with the senior side, where Amakhosi players have featured far less prominently.

Frosler was asked about that gap and responded by turning the spotlight on the senior group.
“I think that’s for us senior team players to look at them and say, if our junior teams are being able to do it,” Frosler said.
“We can learn something from our junior teams, and we have to try to do better and get into the national team ourselves.”
The Chiefs right-back stressed that the success of the club’s youngsters is something to celebrate rather than a source of envy, and that it reflects well on the future of the Soweto giants.
“It’s positive for us, seeing these young talents coming through, and hopefully they can continue growing and hopefully take over in the first team as well,” he added.
Frosler’s comments reflect a healthy attitude within the Chiefs camp: the youngsters’ progress is a benchmark for the seniors, and a pathway they hope will eventually feed the club’s first team and, in turn, Bafana Bafana.
For a club that has long prided itself on producing and developing talent, the message from one of its experienced defenders is clear. The next generation is knocking on the door, and those already inside must raise their own standards to keep pace.
