Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up for their Soweto Derby clash against Orlando Pirates at a sold-out FNB Stadium has been announced.
Amakhosi are six league matches without a win and are desperate to end this run in order to climb back into the Top Eight.
Chiefs have dropped to ninth place with 30 points, but had the highlight of reaching the Nedbank Cup final after eliminating Mamelodi Sundowns.
They will be without striker Wandile Duba, who is serving suspension, while Pirates will be without Nkosinathi Sibisi.
The Buccaneers will aim to end their negative run of back-to-back defeats to Pyramids and Sekhukhune United, but still sit 16 points above their Soweto rivals, despite having played four games less.
Amakhosi have struggled to win this fixture after losing the last four fixtures, including the reverse fixture when Patrick Maswanganyi netted an injury-time penalty. The last time Chiefs won against Pirates was is in March 2023, after an 89th minute own goal from Olisah Ndah.
UPDATE: The kick-off for the match has been delayed by 30 minutes, “as supporters are still making their way into the stadium”, Chiefs announced.
Here is how they line up:
Chiefs XI: Bvuma, Solomons, Kwinika, Dove, Cross, Maart, Ngcobo, Mmodi, Shabalala, Lilepo, Sirino
Subs: Petersen, Mashiane, Miguel, Castillo, Matlou, Cele, Mthethwa, Du Preez. Morris.
