Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro believes that finding the back of the net in pre-season boosted his belief and confidence which could aid him rediscover his goalscoring form again.
Chivaviro, 31, had a poor debut season with Amakhosi after finding the net on a regular basis during his time at Marumo Gallants where he netted 17 goals in 30 matches across all competitions in 2022/23.

Last season, the Limpopo-born frontman scored just four times with a single assist in 23 outings in all competitions as the Glamour Boys finished in a low 10th spot.
During Chiefs’ pre-season camp in Türkiye’ ahead of the 2024/25 campaign under Nasreddine Nabi’s command, Chivaviro scored four goals in Chiefs’ 5-2 win over Qatari Stars League side Al Shahaniya SC, and reckons it could bring back his old self.
“It’s always a confidence booster to score goals in pre-season,” he said at Chiefs’ media day on Tuesday.
“Because it’s preparation for the season to start.
“For me personally, yes, it lifted my confidence and it put me in a place of belief once again.
“And like I said earlier, it puts us in a place of wanting to start the season and starting strong,” he added.
Chiefs open their new Betway Premiership campaign with a tricky away tie against Bahlabane Ba Ntwa on Saturday, September 14.
