In a major change up as the interim coach Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef look to balance the squad work load between a crucial CAF Confederation Cup qualifying tie, major changes were made.
New signing from CR Belouizdad Khanyisa Mayo started for his debut in a 3-4-3 system, and proved the difference as the two sides went into the break with a poachers effort.
However, it could have been comfortable for Amakhosi, as they missed a major chance to move clear, but Gaston Sirino’s penalty was saved just before the half-time whistle by Washington Arubi.
Alexandre Lafite’s side made sure they punished the complacency of the home side, who initially started the season with five games unbeaten, which has now turned into three games without victory in all competitions after the 3-1 loss to league leaders Sekhukhune United, 1-0 loss to Kubascorp and now they stalemate against Gallants.
It was the off-season signing Jaisen Clifford who levelled matters for the vistors, with a stunning strike, cutting in from the left wing and smashing a curled effort into the top right hand corner of Brandon Petersen’s net.
Chiefs remain in third place with 14 points from their opening seven games, while Gallants are ninth with 10 points in eight games.
