TS Galaxy’s Bernard Parker is hopeful their 3-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in pre-season provides momentum for a tough start in 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign.
Galaxy recently revealed they beat Chiefs 3-0 in a behind-closed-doors fixture at FNB Stadium in which Puso Dithejane, Sphiwe Mahlangu and Thokozani Sibanyoni found the net for Sead Ramovic’s side.

After finishing in a record high of sixth place in the league last season, just one point off the CAF Confederation Cup qualifying spot which Sekhukhune United secured, the Rockets have lost several key players again.
The likes of Fiacre Ntwari, Lehlohonolo Mojela and Pogiso Sanoka were sold to Chiefs, Stellenbosch and SuperSport United respectively, three players who formed the spine of their squad – continuing the trend of their top talents being plucked away.
“I [wish] that was an official match because we need the points, but it was just a friendly and when we play friendlies, you know teams try to work on different combinations, different personnel and things like that,” Parker said about the recent win.
“So with that preparatory match played against Kaizer Chiefs, we exerted ourselves properly in terms of what the coach wants in terms of our intensity, our defensive principles, our attacking movements as well in going forward.
“So we have three very important tough fixtures ahead of us, away to Richards Bay in the opening match, then Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport, so it was a great test for us against Kaizer Chiefs – so it’s for us now to have that same mental levels when we head on into the season.”
Parker is the head coach of the DStv Diski Challenge squad this season, assisted by fellow Premier Soccer League legend Vuyo Mere.
