Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed their starting line-ups for the DStv Premiership encounter at Athlone Stadium this afternoon.
City went into the international break with a poor run of results after failing to win a match since they resumed the DStv Premiership after AFCON.
The Cape Town-based side also got knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by SuperSport United on penalties. Eric Tinkler’s side will aim to bounce back this afternoon and continue their good run against Chiefs.
Amakhosi are coming to the game with their tails between the legs after a 3-2 defeat against their rivals Orlando Pirates. Chiefs managed to only win one match in the last five games and they also got knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by first division side Milford FC.
Calvin Johnson will look to turn things around and see if he can push Chiefs to a CAF Inter-club spot.
The ephefeni glamour boys come to this match without their captain Yusuf Maart and Edson Castillo, who both suspended after receiving their fourth yellow card in the last match.
These two side will face each other for the 16th time in the league, City won seven, Chiefs won six times and two ended with draws – however, City are unbeaten in six league games, winning five.
