Cape Town City defender Nathan Idumba Fasika has returned to the club after his loan period with Norwegian side Valerenga expired.
Fasika joined Valerenga earlier on this year on a loan deal from City, featuring 18 times for Valerenga’s first team and second-division sides.
The DRC international defender played a key role in helping the senior side return to top-flight football in Norway after they were relegated the season before.
The 25-year-old has returned to City and started training with the side on Thursday, 26 December after the loan deal expired as it was until December 2024.
It remains unclear if he will remain at City and be registered for the season. Fasika could be a good addition to City’s leaky defence that has conceded 11 goals in nine league games and currently sitting on negative five on goal difference.
