Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has explained why new winger Faiz Abrahams received little game-time since joining the club so far.
Abrahams, 21, joined Chiefs last month on a season long loan move from Stellenbosch FC.
But so far, he has only featured for the Glamour Boys once, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 2-2 Betway Premiership draw away at Richards Bay, playing for only 24 minutes.
Speaking to the media ahead of Amakhosi’s encounter with Siwelele FC, Da Cruz hailed the South African junior international’s qualities and emphasised he doesn’t want to risk any injury by starting Abrahams prematurely.
“Faiz is a very good player,” said Da Cruz.
“He has a lot of quality, a lot of mobility, a lot of technical quality, also quality in the cross.
“So for that he was put on the bench against Richards Bay but we want to give him minutes step by step.
“I don’t want to push him too much because we don’t want him to get injured. But he’s adapted very well in our game model.”
