Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz says the positive mentality is the “interesting part” within his squad after spending several weeks working with the team.
The French tactician has enjoyed a full pre-season with Amakhosi ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, including a training camp in Spain where he had the opportunity to implement his ideas.
Da Cruz has also assessed his side in a number of friendly matches, including last weekend’s Toyota Cup victory over Scottland FC.
While pleased with the players’ attitude and commitment, the Chiefs coach admits there is still room for improvement in the attacking department.
He says the team will continue working on their offensive play as they look to become more effective in front of goal.
“I’m very happy because the mindset of the squad is very good. We work every day, we work hard,” said Da Cruz.
“For the moment, our defensive structure, collective defensive structure, not individual, not only individual, is very good.
“And for the offensive part, we work every day, but it takes always most of the time to improve the offensive parts.
“I want to say again that the offensive part is not just the wingers, strikers and midfielders. It’s all the squad. We work every day very hard.”
