Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo has made an admission of the pain he’s endured following his former side’s crushing defeat in the Soweto Derby this past weekend.

In what was the 184th meeting between the two Soweto giants, billed as the biggest football spectacle on the local football calendar, drama, atmosphere and the clash most certainly lived up to its expectation.

Orlando Pirates reigned supreme on the day thumping their fiercest nemesis 3-0 to top the Betway Premiership standings and strengthen their chances of winning their first league title since the 2011/12 season.

Tshepang Moremi, Oswin Appollis and Evidence Makgopa got on the scoresheet for the Buccaneers at a packed-to-rafters sold-out affair at FNB Stadium.

The result most certainly did emotional damage to a certain section of fans, supporters and legends alike. Itumeleng Khune expressed his dissatisfaction on social media by blasting the players for being a ‘total disrespect’ while supporters called out the club’s management for not improving the technical and playing personnel.

Khumalo expressed how he felt after Chiefs’ humbling loss as well as the opinions from the club’s supporters.

“I’ll be alright, I’ll be alright. I must say that what I saw on Saturday and what I heard is painful,” an emotional Khumalo said on SABC Sport.

“I never thought in my life I will hear Kaizer Chiefs supporters how they feel, I never thought.

“It’s something that I never thought I’ll hear or see.”
