Despite being a versatile defender, new Kaizer Chiefs signing Rushwin Dortley has spoken about his preferred position on the pitch, saying left-centre back suits him better.
Dortley, 22, joined Amakhosi from Motsepe Championship Foundation outfit Cape Town Spurs on a three-year deal, and he hopes to make an immediate impact at Naturena under the tutelage of head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
The left-footed defender told iDiski Times writer Sinethemba Makonco in edition 165 of the newspaper that though different coaches have used him in different positions at the back, he prefers to play at left centre-back.
“I see the coaches over the past years played me as left-back and centre-back,” Dortley told iDiski Times.
“But my preferred position is left centre-back. But I’m versatile and I can play as a left-back as well and as a right centre-back. Yeah, I think left-centre-back is my preferred position.”
