Downs Loanee – With My Ability I Need To Play In Europe

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro has not given up on a move abroad, saying he has the qualities to play there.

Ighodaro, 23, is currently on loan at AmaZulu having joined Sundowns in July of 2021 but is yet to don the club’s colours having been sent out on loan to four different clubs since signing.

The Nigerian marksman has also been linked with interest from overseas-based clubs including Club Brugge in Belgium.

Speaking to iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 186 of the newspaper where he revealed that he is never short of offers from abroad but added that buyers have to be prepared as he is still under contract at Chloorkop.

“I always get offers every season,” Ighodaro told iDiski Times.

“But you know the big guys, you can’t just go there and buy players from them. You have to be ready and I’m still under contract. If you’re willing to buy a player from Sundowns, you have to be prepared because they have invested in me. They’re not just going to let me go and I’m still young.

“So, if you’re willing to buy a player as young as me, you have to be ready. Except if my contract just runs out which might not happen. I would love to go play overseas. I need to go there because with my quality, I need to test European football, try to get as high as I can in football. It’s still a dream for me.”
