Champions-elect Mamelodi Sundowns ran riot over Stellenbosch FC with a thumping 3-0 victory in their Betway Premiership clash at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Sundowns wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard through Lucas Ribeiro’s indirect freekick in the box after Sihle Nduli played a back pass. The Brazilian ended his 11-match goalscoring drought in all competitions to make it 1-0 in the sixth minute.

Six minutes later, Sundowns doubled their lead through Iqraam Rayners from close range after being set up by Ribeiro.
The floodgates then opened as Arthur Sales made it 3-0 in the 18th minute with a deflected shot off Thabo Moloisane.
The second period was sort of a huff and puff from both sides with chances far and few as the tie ended 3-0.
Miguel Cardoso’s charges now need just a single point from their next two games to all but seal their eighth consecutive league title.
They could actually seal the championship without kicking a ball if Orlando Pirates fail to pick up maximum points against Golden Arrows Tuesday night.
