Kaizer Chiefs picked up their first win of 2025 courtesy of Wandile Duba’s brace after rallying from a goal down to beat Stellenbosch FC 2-1 at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday night.
With just five minutes on the clock, Bradley Cross missed a glorious chance to put Chiefs ahead by skying his effort from inside the box.
In the 17th minute, Devin Titus skinned Thatayaone Ditlhokwe on the far left but saw his resulting shot hit the side netting.
Khomotjo Lekholoane then deservedly gave Stellies a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute after Chiefs failed to clear their lines.
Chiefs levelled matters in the 28th minute through Duba’s glancing header after being teed up by Ditlhokwe’s header from a corner kick.
The home side made it 2-1 in the 57th minute through Duba’s brace who beat the offside trap to slot past Sage Stephens at the near post.
Nasreddine Nabi’s charges saw out the game thereafter to leapfrog the Cape Winelands outfit into fifth place on the Betway Premiership standings two points adrift of the top four.
