Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba has made a bold promise to the club’s faithful that they will deliver the Nedbank Cup after their disappointing 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys looked to be on course for a return to winning form thanks to Duba’s first-half strike but were dealt another blow when the Rockets hit back via Mlungisi Mbunjana with less than 10 minutes for a share of the spoils.
While Galaxy moved up to third, Chiefs remained in eighth position with six matches left though they have played two more matches than Chippa United who are in ninth spot.
The 20-year-old bagged his fifth goal of the season and admits that there are mistakes that needs to be rectified after they failed to hold on for a win.
“I had to score today,” Duba told SuperSport TV after the match.
“Mistakes happen. We will fix it next game and I will make sure when I cross again, someone scores. We will fix it at training.
“I had to put my body on the line to get the goal to at least get the three points because we needed it a lot especially after the results from the games that we come from. Today we needed the win.

“The mentality has changed, it’s just that we lose concentration during the game and make small mistakes that we need to fix.
“The performance of today will give us a bit of confidence because of who we’re playing against next week, the biggest in this league, so…but even the draw will give us a bit of confidence for the next game.
“Our fans know that we are trying and I’m sure they also get tired [of the winless runs] and step-by-step we will fix it.
“Nedbank, we promise, we will deliver it for them.”
