Newly promoted Betway Premiership side Durban City will assess winger Craig Martin following his exit from Chippa United.
Information received iDiski Times is that the Gavin Hunt-led side has expressed interest in Martin after he left Chippa when his contract expired. This publication understands the assessment is expected to take a week or two before the veteran coach makes his decision.
The 31-year-old made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Chilli Boys last season, scoring two goals, and providing a further three assists.
Martin has extensive experience having won the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup in 2023 with Orlando Pirates before leaving the side to join Chippa and the speedy winger could play a significant role in Durban City’s 2025/26 season.
Hunt is a coach that plays more with wingers and Martin could add a lot into his style of play with crosses and keeping the width. City’s this season is all about maintaining their premiership status.
