Ex-Downs Midfielder Appointed Head Coach In ABC Motsepe

ABC Motsepe League side FC Ravens have appointed former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Kurt Lentjies as their new head coach.

Lentjies, 39, has been without a coaching job for almost a year since leaving Chippa United feeder team Peacemakers FC, after coaching the Chippa first team having been tasked with gaining promotion with Peacemakers.

Information received by this publication is that the Eastern Cape-based outfit have roped in Lentjies as the man in charge ahead of the new league campaign. Ravens had a good run in the Nedbank Cup last term but were unfortunately eliminated by the Chilli Boys.

Ravens are aiming to follow in the footsteps of Highbury FC but they will have to go past “stream A” who have eight teams including Bush Bucks FC. Should they finish top, they will face a winner of “stream B”.
