Pirates Target First Win Against Highflying CT City

Solomon Mahlangu Stadium is the place to be this weekend as round two of the DStv Diski Challenge takes place with mouth-watering fixtures.

The celebration of 10 years continues this weekend with “fixture ezivuthayo”, as newcomers Magesi FC reserves take on AmaZulu reserves in the opening match of the day.

Highflying Cape Town City reserves face Orlando Pirates reserves in the second fixture after hammering Sekhukhune United 6-2 on the opening day at Malta Park. Meanwhile, Pirates played a goalless draw against young Usuthu.

Sunday might be for lovers, but DDC got you covered as well, with Kaizer Chiefs welcoming Chippa United in a clash of two teams that won their opening games comfortably.

Defending champions Stellenbosch FC will play in front of their home crowd for the first time this season when they face Richards Bay at Idas Valley Sports Ground. The Premier League Next Generation champions look to register their first win of the season after a 1-1 draw against Magesi FC on the opening day.

Last season’s runners-up, Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome newcomers Marumo Gallants who are in search of their first points of the season after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Chippa in the first-round. Sundowns will look to continue where they left-of last week as they scored three unanswered goals in the first 30 minutes of the game against the Natal Rich Boyz.
