Four Orlando Pirates players are set to depart the club at the end of the current campaign, iDiski Times has learnt.
Pirates have a chance to finish the season on a high, needing to win their last game in the DStv Premiership against AmaZulu to secure their CAF Champions League spot for next season.
A week after the final round of DStv Premiership fixtures, they will have a chance to finish the season with two trophies when they face Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup final.
The Soweto giants started the campaign very well, bagging the MTN8 title, which was the first trophy under new Spanish coach Jose Riveiro, who could end his debut campaign with two pieces of silverware.
The club made a lot of signings at the beginning of 2022/23, while several players were loaned out.
With Riveiro close to finishing his first season with the club, it seems like he has started planning for next season already and goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane is set to leave the side at the end of the campaign after falling down the pecking order and with Melusi Buthelezi set to join the club, iDiski Times has learnt.
This publication also gathered that Cameroonian international Bienvenu Eva Nga, who was signed at the beginning of the season from Chippa United, is also on the list of the players that will exit the club.
Meanwhile, Kwame Peprah, who is on loan at relegation-threatened Maritzburg United, is set for an exit, as he is not into Riveiro’s plans, while experienced midfielder Ben Motshwari completes the list of those that are set for an exit.
The former Bidvest Wits midfielder has been struggling to get game-time, and although he made 18 appearances in all competitions this season, he has only started four games.
