Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye claims that striker Jassond Gonzalez is not offering the club anything.
The Colombian forward was signed in August this year from Real Santa Cruz. So far, he has played eight matches across all competitions but has yet to get a goal or an assist in black and gold.
The 24-year-old came on as a second-half substitute when Amakhosi won 1-0 away at Polokwane City in the League over the weekend with Khanye blaming Cavin Johnson for making what he believes were wrong changes that led to the side not being able to manage the game. Khanye adds that he doesn’t know Gonzalez’s strength.
“Second half Kaizer Chiefs I think the coach made wrong subs that’s why they couldn’t manage the game,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.
“I mean bringing in Gonzalez, I think he is coming on for his ninth or 10th game doing nothing, no energy. Saile is not a ball player he is not someone who plays one, two but he’s a goal poacher and he works. But I want to know about this guy Gonzalez, what is his strength?”
“They will pass him and he will shield, shield and they take the ball from him whilst he’s a strong guy by a short player. He can’t protect the ball and he is tall. He can’t even find his teammates. So the coach’s subs in the second half almost cost him in terms of game management because if Polokwane City had clever players they would have wrapped this game”
