Newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side Hope FC is on the verge of completing the signing of Eastern Cape dribbling wizard Thamsanqa ‘Shaka’ Magwaza.

Magwazi lit up the Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League in the colours of FC Ravens in 2024 and caught the eye of Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United. ‘Shaka’ is known for his pace and skill from wide areas of the pitch.

Babina Noko sent him out on loan to Chippa United, where he spent the season juggling between the reserve side, playing in the DStv Diski Challenge, and the Betway Premiership.

In the new season, he was expected to return to his home club, Sekhukhune United, which appointed new head coach Cedric Kaze.

But United felt the player needed to get more game-time and experience; Hope FC saw an opportunity and pounced, enquiring about him.

Babina Noko currently are locked in a room of negotiations with The Immortals in what could be a season-long loan for Magwaza in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The talks are in the final stages, with Hope aiming to finalize the deal as quickly as possible.

The Cape Town-based side seems to be one of the more active in the transfer window as they want to settle in the league this season and possibly fight for promotion next campaign.
