Orlando Pirates wing-back Deon Hotto has hit an incredible landmark for his impressive career in South Africa, racking up 300 top-flight league appearances.
Hotto, 35, has been the barometer of consistency since his arrival at the club, where they won the race for his services against several domestic rivals, including Mamelodi Sundowns, where he was available as a free agent due to the status sale of Bidvest Wits in 2020.
He’s already racked up 240 games for the Buccaneers, playing as a left-wing, right wing, striker, and now left-back with 28 goals and 43 assists to his name, while winning five MTN8 titles, two Nedbank Cups and the Carling KnockOut Cup.
Having started his career in Swakopmund, he represented Blue Boys and African Stars in his homeland, before earning a move to Golden Arrows in 2014, after a sensational showing in the Cosafa Cup.
He went on to also represent Bloemfontein Celtic and the Clever Boys before the move the Buccaneers and within that period, racked up an incredible 300 league appearances for the four South African clubs over 12 years.
Overall, he’s featured 421 times in all competitions, with 48 goals and 82 assists to his name, a total of 130 goal contributions for the Namibia international.
