Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt wants to see his side put up a strong challenge in their last match of the season in order to secure MTN8 competition next season.
The Cape Winelands outfit ran out convincing 2-0 victors over ORBIT College in their previous clash with a brace from Chumani Butsaka which earned Stellies three points on Saturday at Danie Craven Stadium.
The win took Stellies into ninth place in the Betway Premiership standings ahead of next weekend’s season finale against Marumo Gallants.
They are three points behind Durban City and have slim chances of qualifying for next campaign’s MTN8.
Hunt has urged his troops to look at securing maximum points when they travel to Bloemfontein for their final game of the season.
“Let’s try to win the game, and then whatever happens from there, happens,” he said on the club’s website.
“We can’t control anything else. I’ve had many of these last-day situations, so we just have to try to control things.
“It won’t be easy against Marumo in Bloemfontein, but let’s try to win the game, and then whatever happens, happens.”
