Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt has warned of a possible hammering by Orlando Pirates should they display themselves the way they did against Sekhukhune United.
The Cape Winelands outfit still have to play both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership, with a visit to the Tshwane giants first coming up in midweek, and then in two weeks’ time, they will welcome Pirates in the Mother City.

On Friday evening at Athlone Stadium, Hunt’s troops came out victorious with a 3-1 success over Babina Noko in the Betway Premiership.
Hunt’s side has made huge progress compared to where they were before January, and they now stand a good chance of qualifying for the top eight, as they are currently in ninth place and clear of the relegation zone.
However, Hunt admitted that they are far from being a side that could cause an upset against both teams, stating that if they play against Pirates the way they played against Sekhukhune United, they would get a hammering.
He also mentioned how difficult it is to face the in-form Sundowns.
“I think you have to worry about yourself a little bit. I really don’t think we good enough yet, I don’t think we at that stage yet. I need to get my hands dirty here a little bit,” he added.
“If we play like that against Pirates, they will give us six, they’ve got a lot of quality to going forward. I don’t think we will have chances like that against them so, I think if we get a night like this, I don’t think they will fancy it [raining].
“It was difficult to play here tonight [Friday], it was very bad at one stage. It’s very difficult to play against that side [Sundowns] because of what they have, we will go there [midweek], we will put up some fight that’s for sure.
“They could have one of those night you’ll never know in football where they hit a crossbar, I just don’t know if we there yet, but we will get there I know that.
“We will get this team back to where it was. We just need to box a little bit clever as I said we just want to get ourselves out of the situation.”
