Johnson Critical Of Chiefs After Another Loss

Cavin Johnson lamented the missed opportunities by his Kaizer Chiefs team in the 1-0 loss to Richards Bay, stating he’s not happy seeing opposing goalkeepers as Man of the Match so often.

Salim Magoola won the individual award on Sunday afternoon, and Chiefs missed several opportunities to score.

When asked if players need to take more personal responsibility, Johnson said it’s the responsibility of everybody at the club to pull up their socks.

“I don’t think it’s the players, it’s all of us, Johnson,” responded to SuperSport.

“We have to take responsibility. I have to do something else. It starts with me. We have to do something else to make sure that they are in the right space, in the right mind.

“And you look at what you do during the training, and that give them a bonus to play these games.

“And when you see the amount, like you say 14 shots at goal, guys, come on, we have to put two away.

“I think this is probably the third team we play that the goalkeeper is Man of the Match. So we’ve got to look at that as well, and tell ourselves it’s not possible for the goalkeeper to be Man of the Match against us.

“So we’ve got to pull up our socks. We’ve got to start again and it starts with me and the players will follow.”
