Durban City chairman Farook Kadodia has explained the club’s decision to appoint Eric Tinkler as their new head coach.
The 56-year-old returns to the club as a replacement for Khalil Ben Youssef, who was dismissed less than two weeks ago.

Tinkler had previously been strongly linked with the KZN outfit before Ben Youssef’s appointment, but the move failed to materialise at the time.
He has now been handed the responsibility of leading the team as they continue their campaign in both domestic and continental competitions.
Kadodia believes Tinkler has all the qualities for the job and can help them achieve their ambitions for the remainder of the campaign.
“Eric brings a wealth of experience in South African football and understands what is required at this level,” said Kadodia.
“We believe he is the right person to lead the team and help us achieve what we have set out to achieve this season.”
