Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. believes that the club’s new player acquisitions of Rushiwn Dortley and Fiacre Ntwari will contribute immensely to the team ahead of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign.
The duo was confirmed as the new Chiefs players in Bloemfontein on Sunday before Amakhosi’s Toyota Cup fixture against Tanzanian champions Yanga SC, a match the latter won 4-0 on the afternoon.
Dortley, 22, is a versatile defender who can play at both left-back and centre-back and joined the Glamour Boys on a three-year deal from Cape Town Spurs, while goalkeeper Ntwari, 24, was signed from TS Galaxy on a four-year deal and is expected to compete for the Chiefs number one jersey with Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma.
“We are so excited Ntwari has joined our team,” Motaung Jr told the club’s media team.
“With his experience at Club and international level, he is going to be a great addition to goalkeeping department and our squad.
“On behalf of our team, I welcome him and hope he will enjoy playing for this giant Club in the history of football.
“Just like the other two guys, we are looking forward to Dortley’s contribution in our team.
“He is a quality defender, who has played for the junior national teams. We really believe he will add a lot of value to Kaizer Chiefs, especially at the back,” he added.
Chiefs will next head to Botswana to continue their pre-season as they prepare for their opening 2024/25 Betway Premiership fixture against Marumo Gallants on Saturday, September 14.
