Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba and Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Sibisi will miss the Soweto Derby this coming weekend due to suspensions.
Chiefs have gone six matches without a win in the league and find themselves outside the top eight. Two weeks ago, they managed to reach the Nedbank Cup final, which is something that could salvage their season.
Duba played a huge role Amakhosi’s Nedbank Cup semi-final victory over Mamelodi Sundown but the 20-year-old will miss the clash against Pirates this coming weekend after receiving his fourth yellow card in Chiefs’ loss against Marumo Gallants. Duba has scored six goals across all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last two matches against Egyptian side Pyramids and Sekhukhune United. To make matter tougher, Jose Riveiro will need to reshuffle his defence as they will miss Sibisi, who has been solid at the back. The former Lamontville Golden Arrows received two yellow cards, which resulted in a red card, in their 1-0 loss against Sekhukhune United.
AmaZulu FC will miss three key players when they face Polokwane City – namely: Rowan Human, who has nine goal contributions this season, as well as defenders, Mbongeni Gumede and Taariq Fielies. The three received their fourth booking in their 1-0 win over Lamontville Golden Arrows. The clash could decide the fate of Usuthu in their quest to finish in the top eight, as they will have only one game remaining for the season.
Sekhukhune United will be without defender Sikhosonke Langa in their Limpopo derby against Magesi FC. Langa received his fourth yellow card midweek in their 1-0 win over Pirates. Babina Noko will have to do without him as they aim to cement their spot in the top three.
