Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye believes Amakhosi will lose to Polokwane City and miss out on the MTN8 yet again.
Chiefs have it all to play for and a win over Rise & Shine would secure them a spot in the top eight. However, Nasreddine Nabi’s side are currently eight league games without a win, and start the final round of games in position nine.
Although Khanye praised his former side for ending their 10-year trophy drought, he also believes that Nabi’s men will lose to Polokwane City on Saturday.
“Chiefs against Polokwane City is also a tough game,” he told this website.
“Chiefs want to be in the top eight. They recently win, won the trophy, which is Nedbank. Well done to Chiefs to win their first trophy in a while.
“It never happened in their history, whereby Chiefs never won anything in the past 10 years. And well done to the coach Nasreddine Nabi, we’ve been on his case and his players.
“Well done to Yusuf Maart, I see he’s been called in the preliminary Bafana squad now, I’m sure it’s because of that goal. Winning the trophy mustn’t fool them.
“They’re playing against Polokwane City, they started very well this season, an underrated team. They don’t have a high profile coach and high profile players.
“But individual talented players… I think second round they’ve been struggling. They need the point as well like Kaizer Chiefs, it’s a battle of top eight, but I see Polokwane winning again, 2-0 or 2-1.”
