Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has made his prediction for the much-talked about top-of-the-table Betway Premiership match between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, saying the visitors will win it by a margin.
Sundowns have 58 points and enjoy an 18 point lead at the summit of the table from 22 matches, while the Buccaneers are second and have four games in hand.
Football pundits are divided in their opinion of the impact of the result of this fixture, as many believe if it goes Sundowns’ way the title race might as well be over.
Khanye is giving the game to the defending champions, adding that Peter Shalulile will be on the score-sheet at the FNB Stadium.
“I’m giving Sundowns 3-0 and I won’t be scared to say that,” said Khanye on IDiski TV.
“I know that Pirates will create chances, I don’t think they will sit back but I don’t think they have the type of players individually to trouble [Sundowns] but as a team they can maintain Sundowns.
“I see Shalulile scoring his 101 goal, I see [Lucas] Ribeiro scoring and [Iqraam] Rayners. If Ribeiro doesn’t score two, Rayners will come to the party.
“3-0 and even 4-0 is possible, I think Pirates will create some moments but they will not score and will want to play an open game.”
