Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has insisted that Thembinkosi Lorch needs to focus on his football after his return from suspension against Golden Arrows.
Lorch, 30, came back from internal suspension after his court case over assault of his former girl friend.
The winger replaced goalscorer Patrick Maswanganyi after 70 minutes in the 2-1 win over Arrows and had a late goal wrongfully ruled out for offside.
Khanye, who analyses the match on iDiskiTV, said Lorch must make use of his second chance after his court case.
“Thembinkosi Lorch is a star player. He is a superstar. He is one of the best players ever produced in South Africa,” he stated on iDiskiTV.
“When he entered the match, the fans were excited. These people love him and he is very talented. He is good.
“If you are constructing a national team squad, that’s one of the first names on the list. I want to say to him that he needs to start focusing on his football.
“This may be his last contract because he is older. So he needs to check himself and put all his efforts into being a great player.
“The court case is done. He was found guilty but he is back from suspension now. He needs to work hard on being a better person and keep focused. Some of us were never given these second chances.”
Khanye also shared his thoughts on the match, saying Pirates deserved the three points and also praised the match official for his consistency in his decisions.
“Orlando Pirates deserve this win against Arrows,” he added.
“Well done to the referee for not being biased. He awarded both clubs penalties when they both deserved them. Although I think both penalties were soft, the referee was fair.
“Pirates deserve to win the game.
