South African winger Kobamelo Kodisang has opened up on his return to Portugal, on loan, after just one season with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kodisang, 25, has joined AFV Futebol on a season-long loan with the club, that holds an option to buy and has already started training with his new teammates under the watchful eye of head coach José Mota.
Having been lured back to the South African top-flight by Sundowns in a move to strengthen their attack for the 2024/25 season which ended with the FIFA Club World Cup – things didn’t quite work out for the winger as he returns to Liga Portugal where he previously turned out for Moreirense and Braga B.
“It’s good to be here and back in Portugal. In fact, it’s as if I never left. I arrived at an excellent club, and now I’m going to try to give my best for AFS,” Kodisang said.
AVS finished 16th in the league in the 2024/25 season, retaining their status in the playoffs, a season after being promoted via the playoffs
“The championship is very competitive and not easy. We must always give our best, and we can’t predict match results or the final standings. We must give our all and try to finish as high as possible in the table,” Kodisang stated.
Kodisang featured 12 times for Sundowns last season, scoring two goals with two assists.
