Niger international defender Samba O’Neil looks set to join Sekhukhune United from Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko.
The towering centre-back had made waves in West Africa since his arrival in Kumasi back in 2024 from Burkina Faso giants Rahimo FC.
Comfortable with the ball at his feet, dominant aerially and with the penchant of scoring from set-pieces, O’Neil also featured in the six role on several occassions, highlighting his versatility for Kotoko.
He was part of the squad that ousted Kaizer Chiefs for the pre-season Toyota Cup last year and Sekhukhune have now won the race from a host of suitors to lure him to South Africa.
He featured in 30 games in the Ghana Premier League and four in the CAF Confederation Cup and netted six goals across the two competitions.
