Latest Update On Malesela After 8-1 Pirates Thrashing

Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela has returned to his position at the club after being placed on “special leave” two weeks ago.

Malesela missed the side’s last two matches, including their 8-1 demolition by Pirates, after going on special leave to attend to family matters according to the club.

These developments and Govender’s appointment as an “additional assistant” sparked reports that the former Chippa United coach could be on his way out of the club.

However, Malesela travelled with the club to Polokwane but watched from the stands as his side lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United on a rainy night.

That result stretched Bahlabane Ba Ntwa’s winless streak to three matches leaving them in 13th position on the log with 10 points in 11 outings.

Prior to “Dance”s return, Govinder emphasized the technical team’s job is to stabilise the team in line with the head coach’s principles while also respecting what Malesela has done and is doing for the club.

“Look coach Dan has worked here so the players, there’s certain things that he has done and that’s his input,” Govender answered iDiski Times.

“So, all that we are doing now is we are just trying to ensure that we stabilise it in a different direction obviously with his principles.

“It’s difficult to change principles this time of the season but like we say we have to respect his job.

“We respect his job, and we respect what he’s been doing and what he is doing. So, for us to come now it’s just we are all professional coaches so at the end of the day, we have to complement one another.

“And that’s what we are actually doing with Coach Dance.”
