Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa has sent Orlando Pirates a warning ahead of next season, claiming the sides aren’t exactly on the same level from a mental capacity point of view.
Lebusa and his Sundowns teammates had another stellar campaign, walking away with a record seventh DStv Premiership title and the inaugural African Football League.
Despite Jose Riveiro’s men finishing as league runners-up to qualify for the CAF Champions League, and enjoying a back-to-back cup double triumph, including two cup final wins over Masandawana, Lebusa, speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 159 of the newspaper, shrugged off Pirates as Sundowns’ competitors.
“I mean, they have been saying that for quite some seasons, and here we are,” Lebusa told iDiski Times.
“But I feel they have a good team, and we just saw what happened now, but I’m not sure if they are on the same level as us in terms of the mental capacity of our desires, what we want to achieve. But we are ready for whatever they bring to us.
“But I think our competition is ourselves, you know, every season we work hard to be better than we were the previous season.”
