Renowned football agent Mike Makaab says Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule will be a free agent should the club not exercise the option in the player’s contract by end of May.
Mbule has had an interesting season at Sekhukhune United where he is on loan and had a good start but soon fell out of favour due to alleged off-field issues.
The 27-year-old has racked up two goals and three assists in 17 appearances across all competitions since joining Babina Noko at the start of the season.
The former SuperSport United midfielder has often been criticized for not taking his football career seriously though he is immensely talented and shown his quality time and again on the field of play.
Speaking with Simtho Dladla on GagasiFM, Makaab explained that Sundowns have until the end of May to exercise the option on ‘Master Chef’ though he admitted that his client has issues.
“Mamelodi Sundowns have until the end of May to exercise the option, if they don’t exercise option then Sipho is a free agent. We will then look at the number of possibilities for him,” Makaab said.
“I’m not concerned, he is a talented player; Yes of course, he has his problems, we don’t have to beat around the bush about that, he is a talented football player, and I’m convinced that he is going to put his best forward.
“He has an option. If Mamelodi Sundowns take the option, then we have to look at other means of trying to move him if both him and the club are not keen to continue with their relationship.
“It’s never easy as we’ve done in the past. We gonna have to take this case carefully, examine all the possibilities and then hopefully guide and assist Sipho making the right decision for his future.”
