Martin Makes Appeal To PSL Over Mobara Red

AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin has suggested that Abubaker Mobara’s red card against Orlando Pirates should be rescinded.

Mobara was sent off after being the last man in defence while making a tackle on Patrick Maswanganyi, though replays suggest the AmaZulu defender got to the ball first, and perhaps should not have been dismissed.

The AmaZulu defender and bench were livid at the decision from referee Cedric Muvhali and responding to a question from iDiski Times, suggested it is unfair that Mobara will miss games while Muvhali will continue to officiate.

“I think, again, if we want to make football a little bit more fair, of course, when there’s evidence situation, then they should recognise the error publicly,” Martin said after the game.

“Because you know, the funniest thing of these things is that the ones who are punished are the ones who are not doing anything and the ones who are making mistakes are the ones who are going to be there next week, making the same things.

“I think it’s a great question, very clever. And I think if we want to be fair, we should have him available for the next games.”
