Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has dismissed the notion that it has become easy to plan for Kaizer Chiefs.
Mngqithi’s charges won 2-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to complete a double over Amakhosi in the league this season to move to 10th position on the log with two points adrift of Chiefs who stayed in eighth place with 29 points from 23 matches while the former has three games in hand.

The victory over Chiefs was Mngqithi’s third this season with the others coming at his former side Mamelodi Sundowns earlier on in the campaign.
Prior the game Mngqithi had spoken about what he expected from the Naturena-based outfit and fortunate for him things went as expected. However, when asked if it’s become easy, the 53-year-old said he might have been playing mind games but also understanding of team structure is important.
“I wouldn’t say it’s because that easy,” said Mngqithi.
“I think sometimes as coaches we have a responsibility to spend a little bit more time in understanding what the thinking of the coaches is and what has worked for them and what has not worked for them. And maybe to drive the narrative of how you would want them to come at you because sometimes the information you share out there is in the public domain.

“And maybe you are trying to scare them not to go that direction because you want them not to use maybe some of their best weapons because they are thinking that you already know everything. But the truth in football is that even if you were to know that that Lionel Messi is left footed and he’s going to go to his left foot it’s the level of training, the mentality of the opponents and the understanding of tactics.
“And maybe the structure being respected because the goal that we conceded it was just one of those few moments where structurally we were imbalanced because [Sazi] Gumbi who played very well on the left channel when he saw the ball played beyond [Nqobeko] Dlamini and [Velemseni] Ndwandwe he jumped to try and assist them.
“And when the ball was rotated to the other side to Gaston [Sirino] it became very difficult for him to react. So, it’s not that it is that easy but is better when you know the composition of the team.”
