Bafana Bafana defender Nyiko Mobbie will be retained on another loan at Sekhukhune United from Mamelodi Sundowns for the 2023/24 season.
Mobbie, 28, has spent four separate loans at Stellenbosch, Chippa United and Sekhukhune United twice since joining Sundowns from Free State Stars in 2019.
And despite the instability of moving around, he managed to remain consistent in the DStv Premiership and attracted the attention of Bafana head coach Hugo Broos, where he’s been a regular feature in the national team since his appointment in 2021.
He’s been called up to every national team squad over the past two years and with competition rife at Masandawana, Babina Noko have secured him on another loan, which is said to be the final year of his contract with the league champions.

iDiski Times can confirm an agreement has been reached with the two clubs, and Mobbie was happy to return to the club, as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations looms in January.
“He’s an important part of the team, coach Brandon [Truter] is fond of him, his professionalism and work-rate, it was a no-brainer [to retain him],” a source within Sekhukhune confirmed.
Overall has racked up 156 appearances in the South African top-flight since bursting onto the scene with the now-defunct Ea Lla Koto.
